The Flemington Racecourse looks set to host a busy day of racing on its Blamey Stakes Day, with an extra three races added on to the fixture due to harsh weather conditions on Super Saturday, the day will certainly be one to watch.
The sixth race of 10 to take place will be the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m), and with nine elite starters, it seems the horse to beat will be Dao Dao starting at $2.40.
The runner up of the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1600m) will start the Blamey Stakes from the third barrier and will be a tough starter to beat.
With nine elite starters, it seems the horse to beat will be Dao Dao starting at $2.40.
Rightfully Yours has the pressure going into the race to be the horse to do just that, starting at $3.80. With the advantage of the second barrier, the five-year-old has the ability to do it, and will not doubt provide a good battle on the track.
Vigor rounds out the odds for the top three at $4.60. The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding will start from the middle fourth barrier and will be looking for his first win for 2010 in the Blamey Stakes.
Closing the odds for the Blamey Stakes is Hissing Sid at $31. Starting from the fifth barrier, the gelding could pay out a handsome reward if he crosses the line first on Saturday.
