This Saturday, the Blamey Stakes Day will be a full affair as the Flemington Racecourse is host to an incredible 10 races, one of which is the illustrious Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m).
Due to extreme weather conditions at the Flemington Racecourse on Super Saturday last week, three more races have been added to this week’s schedule, ensuring spectators will certainly see some fantastic racing.
This year the Blamey Stakes has prize money of $300,000 on offer, with 16 nominations up for the 1,600 metre challenge.
Drawing in horses three-years-old and over, the nominations certainly look to provide a fantastic line up for the Group 2 event, with Rightfully Yours just one favourite going into the race.

The Mick Price-trained gelding won the Group 3 Carlyon Cup (1400m) in February, which is often used as a strong indicator into horse form for the Blamey Stakes, and may well succeed in Saturday’s race.
The Joseph Pride-trained Vision and Power may well be looking for his second win in the 2010 Blamey Stakes.
Rebel Raider is always a strong nomination for any race, and will be looking for his Group 2 South Australian Derby (2500m) win form, if the four-year-old starts on Saturday.
Dao Dao is another contender. The six-year-old gelding’s last three starts have all resulted in runner-up positions, including the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1600m), so will be looking to the Blamey Stakes for his first win for the year.
Also taking place on Saturday at the Flemington Racecourse will be the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m), Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) and the Group 3 Matron Stakes (1600m).
